Civil War Food - What Union and Confederate Soldiers Ate

By Steven Chabotte The modern U.S. army has a wide array of food products available to them in base camps and in the field. There are a large number of MREs (which are actually quite tasty) and other portable foods available to them when on missions and when stationed in hostile terrain. And when posted at an established base camp, the food that is prepared is also quite good. A large part of this is of course the ready availability of large quantities of any sort of food imaginable in today's modern environment. In fact, today's soldiers have the best food ever made available to a fighting force. But it wasn't always that way. Take the Civil War. Civil War food kept the soldiers fed and not much else. Lets take a look at the diet that comprised the typical Civil War food ration. There were several issues that affected the food that was supplied to the Civil War soldiers. These include the organization of the Commisary Department - which was tasked with the acquisition and distribution of food to the soldiers in the field, the season which determined if fresh food was available or if it was preserved in some way and the ability of the food to stay good for long term storage and transportation. Prior to the war, the concentration of Commisaries was in the North so when the Civil War began, the North had a great advantage as they already had an existing Commisary Department that was already trained in how to acquire and transport food to soldiers in the field. Their job was to work with the troop numbers and schedules and keep a constant supply of foods going to each area where troops were stationed so that the soldiers could keep on fighting without worrying about where their next meal would be coming from. It took the Confederacy several years to develop a working Commisary so being a soldier of the South was more difficult. It required real dedication to be fighting when you didn't know where your next meal was coming from. Because of this lack of infrastructure, the South had to do a lot of foraging for food between battles until the supply lines were up and operational. Civil War soldier food was typically very simple fare - often consisting of meat, coffee, sugar and hardtack - a type of dried biscuit. The meat was often salted or dried so it would last a bit longer and fruits and vegetables were rarities on the battlefield. Because the soldiers were often in the field, they needed to carry rations with them. They had a special bag - called a haversack - whihc was made of canvas with an inner cloth bag that could be washed to get food debris cleaned out once in a while. But even with this design, the bags were often quite contaminated and foul smelling. Cleanliness was typically not high on the Civil War soliders priority list. Union soldiers and Confederate soldiers typically had a different mix of rations. A Union soldier might have salt pork, fresh or salted beef, coffee, sugar, salt, vinegar, dried fruit and vegetables. And if it was in season, they might have fresh carrots, onions, turnips and potatos. A Confederate soldier typically had bacon, corn meal, tea, sugar, molasses and the very occasional fresh vegetable. The other difference in Civil War food between the Union and Confederate armies was the type of bread product they had available to them. Confederate soldiers had something called "Johnnie Cake" that they made in the field from cornmeal, milk and a few other ingredients. The Union soldiers had hardtack, also referred to as "tooth dullers" or "sheet iron crackers". Hardtack was manufactured in large factories in the North and was a staple food for the Union soldiers. Hardtack got its name because it was often not used until months after it was made and during that time, it hardened rock solid which is how it got its nicknames. As you can see, food has come a long way due to the advent of technologies that allow for better preservation of a wide variety of foods. Gone are the days of weevil infested hardtack. They have been replaced with modern vacuum seal technologies that allow foods to stay fresh and tasty years after they have been packages. And since they say an army is run by its stomach, it is no surprise that the modern soldier is the best the world has ever seen. Getting Rid of Garden Pests with Less Chemicals

By Carla Donnelly Can we avoid potentially harmful gardening ingredients? The best thing about the world these days is the open mindedness as well as the awareness most people have about products that do more good than harm to the environment. This is important both in preserving the planet as well as not compromising the body's immune system through chemical exposure. It is a lot easier to find certain products now that are organic in nature compared to looking for such a product five, ten or twenty years ago. The market is now opening its doors to a lot safer and a lot healthier as well as a more effective way of gardening. Believe it or not, Lowes as well as Home Depot now have organic gardening materials at ones easy beck and call. Such products are clearly a very welcome alternative to the majority of products that are harmful to nature and humans. There are now gardening products that are good for the plants as well as for you. Fortunately, there is an insect repellant that consists basically of oil made out of orange which does the same functions of an insecticide minus the bad and unhealthy smell. This insect repellant and killer is made out of diatomaceous earth. Also, a soap that kills insects that it so happens to come in contact with is made out of believe it or not the fatty acids of potassium salts. Miracle II put in some water is great to throw on ant piles including fire ants probably due to the mineral content. Those pesky, creepy crawly slugs can be stopped via good old fashioned coconut oil made into a soap. Weeds meanwhile, one of the persistent enemies of the garden, is prevented with the use of a gluten meal made out of corn. Rosemary oil as well as neem oil is another good repellant as well as killer of those little insects usually found in the outdoors. Worms and caterpillars are also best battled naturally via bacillus thuringienensis. Mosquitos are best repelled using common and ordinary household garlic. Mint oil could also be utilized to kill away those wasps and hornets from the home. If you do get bitten, miracle ii gel is wonderful for eliminating the itch and speeding up healing. Fortunately, big name companies are getting to understand the value of getting into the naturally healthy bug killing industry and have now started to offer insect repellents that are based on plants. Most of the ingredients of such products are eugenol and a very minimal risk pesticide as determined by the EPA. Plus, repellents that are applied directly on the skin have also jumped into the bandwagon of safety. Picaridin is a common ingredient on skin inspect repellents and this chemical proves to feel light on the skin and is recommended by the CDC to be one of their currently recommended repellents. Eucalyptus plants is also used by the product OFF! in their inspect repellant product. Believe it or not, a just as effective herbicide that is a naturally occurring element is vinegar. It is extremely great to know that hardware stores as well as stores for those who love to do gardening activities already carry vinegar based bottles basically about twenty percent vinegar based herbicides. This is a product that is used and certified organic. This herbicide also consists of seaweed, liquid fish and tea compost. All these ingredients are generic and are used as fertilizers that are one hundred percent organic. All in all, the best gardening products are those that use naturally occurring elements from the garden or from nature. What best way to take care and nurture a garden than using the same products that nature also offers. It is also a non invasive and natural way to keep everything in order, wholistically and perfectly in a manner that is free flowing and does not in any way harm another living being or its natural habitat and does not in any way destroy the intricate balance of nature. Finding Bad Credit Loans

By Jeff Lakie Many people within the UK have come to find that they have bad credit and with bad credit come the shocking realization that it is extremely difficult to obtain any type of loan. These same people may feel like they are doomed to a credit less life forever. This could not be further from the truth. There are many ways, any person with bad credit can obtain a loan; you just may not realize which way you should turn. If you have attempted to get a loan through various applications before and have been turned down, you do still have options. These options could be extremely easy if you know just where you should look. Some of the different types of bad credit loans could include, Title Loans, Pawnbrokers, as well as banks and finance companies. Many people do not realize that you may have equity within your vehicle. A very popular type of loan for those with bad credit is a title loan. These particular types of bad credit loans enable you to make use of a vehicle that you possess the title for and turn it into much needed money. No matter what type of vehicle you own, a truck or a car, if you own the vehicle outright and possess the title you will qualify for this type of loan. What happens is this, you take your title in, along with your vehicle, they will ensure everything is in working order and offer you an amount. You can both choose to accept it or deny it, if you accept they will give you a loan, and keep your car title. You will still be able to keep your vehicle though; you will be required to make payments on this loan. If you should fail to make payments, the title loan company has the right to take your vehicle and sell it in any manner possible in order to get their money back. A pawnbroker, is very much similar to a title loan company, they will make a loan to you based on the value of the property you present to them. However, you will not be able to maintain the possession of your property they will keep it. You will have a certain length of time to repay the amount of the loan they have given you. If you fail, and ninety days has passed since the due date, the pawnbroker has the right to make your items available for sale. Those are not your only options, you may also be able to qualify for a bad credit loan with a finance company or a bank. Many of these types of businesses offer loans specific to those with bad credit. There are several ways you can go about this, by using something of value as collateral or obtaining a co-signer. Anyway you go, by obtaining a bad credit loan you could be well on your way to having better credit and a better quality of life as a result. Jeff Lakie is a freelance writer for the

Rose Meanings Explained

By Bambi Coker Roses are the traditional gift given on Valentines Day, but they're well-received any time of year. The color and type of rose does carry a meaning, though. Be aware of what youre giving: the color of a rose can have a very different meaning from what you intend. If youre giving roses as a gift, follow this guide to make sure you send the message you want to send: Red Roses: Red roses say, "I love you." Red roses are the ultimate symbol of romantic love and enduring passion. Florists can't keep up with the Valentines Day demand for red roses, which makes them especially expensive in February. Pale Pink Roses: Pale pink roses imply grace, gentleness, and joy. Light Pink Roses: Light pink roses express a sense of fun, happiness, and whimsy. Deep Pink Roses: Deep pink roses say, "Thank you." Lilac Roses: Lilac roses indicate the sender has fallen in love at first sight with the recipient and is enchanted. (To make sure the recipient doesnt miss the message, an appropriate card might also be a good idea. The meaning of lilac roses isnt as widely-known as the meaning of red roses, for instance.) White Roses: Pure white roses symbolize truth and innocence. They also send other messages like, "I miss you," and "You're heavenly (or both, if your loved one is away.) Coral Roses: Coral roses express one thing through their passionate color: Desire. Peach Roses: Peach roses signify appreciation, gratitude, modesty, and also can convey sympathy. Orange Roses: Orange roses communicate enthusiasm, desire, and fascination on the part of the sender. Yellow Roses: Yellow roses indicate friendship and freedom ― so don't send them if your intentions are romantic and long-lasting. Yellow roses are also appropriate for sending congratulations to newlyweds, graduates, and new mothers. Dead Roses: Regardless of the original color, dead roses say "It's over," loud, clear, and in a tacky and less than classy way. Combining Colors Put two or more colors of roses together, and a new rose meaning arises: White Roses + Yellow Roses: A symbol of harmony. Red Roses + Yellow Roses: A message of happiness and celebration. Red Roses + White Roses: An indication of bonding and harmony. Other Rose Symbolism These are acceptable ways to convey a meaning giving roses: 12 Roses: Gratitude. Any bouquet in full bloom also implies the full flowering of the emotion being conveyed: a bouquet of red roses in full bloom implies the full flowering of love. 24 Roses: Congratulations 48 Roses: Unconditional love. Single Red Rose: "I love you," (but I'm not going to go broke telling you.) A single red rose in a bud vase is a great way to surprise and charm a loved one. Single Rose of Any Color: "Thank you," (and I'm still not going to go broke saying so.) Two Roses Entwined: An engagement or marriage is in the near future. Can You Tan With A Pill?

By James C Can you get a tan by just taking a pill? Well one day you might be able to. Tanning pills are starting to make there way onto the market but are still a little ways off for buyers in the United States. There are two different types of tanning pills that show promise and both work in different ways. The first type of pill works entirely without sun. It works by giving you a huge dose of Carotenoids. Carotenoids give carrots their orange color. When you ingest a large quantity of them, the excess gets stored in your skin and gives you a tanned look. Since it is basically only dying your skin, this pill gives the user no protection from sun exposure so you should still be careful to use sunscreen when out in the sun. It is also short lasting and the tan will go away as soon as the user stops taking the pills. Carotenoids have been approved for use as a food coloring but the FDA has not approved them for use as a tanning pill. The long term effects of the tanning pills are not known. The second type of pill is more of a tan enhancer. It works by speeding up the tanning process. It contains a chemical called tyrosine which increases the bodies production of melanin. The user takes the pills and exposes themselves to sunlight. This pill gives the user all of the benefits of a real tan since it essentially is a real tan. It does have side effects though such as nausea, vomiting and headaches. As you can see, there is the promise of a tan in a pill out there but they are still a ways off. The side effects and the potential risks are just not worth an easy tan. So for now, put your sunscreen on and head outdoors or to the tanning salon if you want a tan. The Art of the Wedding Invitation

By Gillian Cooper So youve decided to get married and want to invite your many friends and family. One could spend one's time going through a list and calling every individual they know to try and confirm who is going to attend the wedding, but who in their right mind has time for that? Not since before the invention of the printing press have people spent their time proclaiming from the roof tops of such a blessed occasion, and with good reason, it is too costly. A better alternative to talking yourself horse is to utilize a very popular form of communication for weddings, the wedding invitation. The wedding invitation was first brought into the commercial world after World War II when commercial prosperity allowed some of the lower class citizens a taste of what the wealthy had been experiencing prior to the great conflict of war. Fast forward to present times and the popularity of such a device is still high.
Wedding invitations not only allow for timely responses regarding attendance, but they also offer an avenue to communicate other important information regarding the wedding. Times, places, and any additional events, such as receptions, have all been known to be placed in wedding invitations. This allows for those attending to have a schedule and any directions they may need for the days festivities to be available in one convenient location. Today there are thousands of companies whose sole purpose is to fill the orders of the millions that get married each year. Many offer a variety of pre-made designs as well as the ability to design unique wedding invitations. Competition is great in the wedding market and many competitors offer huge discounts for cheap wedding invitations. Online access makes shopping for wedding invitations easier then ever allowing comparisons between companies to be displayed with simply the click of a button. Alternatively, there are even websites that offer free printable wedding invitations for those that like to do it yourself or for anyone not looking to spend an arm and a leg on invitations. These websites tend to be very user friendly with instructions on how to download, as well as offering various templates for you to choose from. Even if the wedding is a long way down the road, it may be a good idea to send out save the date reminders so that everyone can be aware that the wedding is on its way.
Then, when the time comes closer to the actual wedding date, the final invitations can be mailed out for confirmation of who will be attending. This can help with catering, seating and over all budget planning for the wedding.
Wedding invitations are a stylish and informative way to invite your guests to that wonderful day. A full selection at various prices makes shopping for wedding invitations a quick and joyful experience. They also make great keepsakes of the event for loved ones. Dont let your wedding day sneak up without inviting all those near and far whom you hold dear. Gillian Cooper is a wedding planner with many years experience of helping couples plan their big day. Tips for Receiving Online Accredited Degrees

By John Higginbotham While a great many individuals dream of getting a degree, it is sometimes seemingly impossible to interrupt your career and or family life to go back to school. Many of us, of course, have jobs and find that the traditional schedules offered by community colleges and universities often make it impossible for us to juggle our schedules to attend. Or perhaps we have family members, kids more than likely, that we simply must dedicate our time to. These are the very things that are making online college courses ever so more attractive. And don't think for a second that the colleges and universities across the country aren't recognizing this and responding in kind. A great alternative for the person who desires to attend college classes is to go the route of an online accredited degree. This is a degree from a college or university with accreditation, which means it meets the state's guidelines and is deemed to be every bit as credible as a brick-and-mortar earned degree. The programs offered in the form of online degrees very greatly. It is advised that anyone pursuing this avenue of higher learning do their homework and learn as much as they possibly can before making their decision as to which classes to pursue. There is ample information to be had, so by all means request as much as you feel is necessary to obtain the information that you're after. We must remember that there are so many degrees offered through the online accreditation process that your choices are becoming ever more diversified. Degree levels include Associates, Bachelors, Masters and Doctorates. The advantages to getting an online degree are virtually endless. You do not have to commute and there is no need to schedule classes and reshuffle your life around someone else's schedule. The only thing you really have to do is be on yourself to stay disciplined to get your work done. I will again repeat what I said earlier because of its great importance. It is absolutely paramount that you make sure that the degree that you are pursuing and the classes that you are taking are indeed accredited. There's nothing worse than wasting your time and money taking classes that you will not get credit for, unless of course you are doing it for your own edification. If you were ever considering getting a degree to improve your chances of landing a job, or getting paid more, or even to perhaps change careers completely, now is the time to do it. The future is promised to no one and now with the advantages of online accredited degrees, there really is no excuse for not pursuing these wonderful opportunities. Most of these online classes are delivered by way of computer. Don't be intimidated by this if you are not computer savvy. A simple computer and Internet connection will be more than enough to get you through. So now you know. No excuses, get out there and get it done. John Higginbotham has been on the internet for over 6 years and has extensive knowledge on internet marketing as well as obtaining an online education. Shed 100 Lbs This Weekend

By Adriana Copaceanu If you are like me, you have hundreds of unwanted pounds around your house. Now, in just one weekend, you can loose 100 lbs. or more. Ready? Take inventory of the things in the area you are trying
to clear out So spend one morning going through the items found in your space (furniture, papers, clothing, etc). While doing so, make piles in another area for
things you would like to keep things you must keep things you are certain you would like to throwaway
Here's a good rule of thumb: if you have not found a use for the item in the last twelve months, then you most likely no longer need that item. So... throw it away! Don't think twice about it. Just let it go. Discard the throwaway pile immediately: do not let it lie around waiting to be removed. Send it to your favorite local charity. If you don't immediately remove it you are more likely to have second thoughts and keep more of the things you do not need. Try to have the space you are organizing empty by the time you are done. Get the Tools you need! After your piles are finished, start the organization process. Some good items to obtain are:
small file cabinet if you need to store loose papers clothes hangers for those clothes you keep piling up a pegboard and hangers for it (they make great tool hangers) some plastic bins with lids for those items you need to store
When buying the items you need, keep your eyes open for other helpful organizational aides: there are tons out there. Remember that your intention is to clear and organize your space, so only purchase items that you need and will assist you in the process. Organize Your Space Once you have all the necessary materials you can start to restore order. Begin to put the things in your piles back in their new home within your space. As you go through these items again make sure you must keep them. Don't put them back in your space unless you are absolutely sure you must have them. If you do not really need the items throw them in a new discard pile. Make it your goal by the end of Sunday to have everything in its new place. Take your new throwaway pile to the dump or your favorite local charity. It's not hard at all to remove one hundred of pounds of clutter in just a mater of days: from paper junk (old magazines, newspaper piles, junk mail or old books), to clothes (all those out of style, too small or too big, and even some new ones you purchased in haste and never used) and furniture (old chairs, boxes or even larger pieces), you'll feel so much better! Stay Organized Once all your things are placed neatly and orderly in your area, take a picture. Get a copy of the picture and place it somewhere in the area you cleaned/organized. It doesn't have to be out front and center, but place it somewhere you will see it occasionally. This way every time you go to toss something in your new clean space you will remember what a pain it was to clean out and maybe you will think twice before you put items you really have no use for in there. Take the time after your project is complete to make sure you are utilizing the new additions you've put in place to help avoid getting your space back to messy unorganized clutter. Now enjoy your new home, and brag about your extreme weight loss! Adriana Copaceanu is a busy mom of 2. Visit her Busy Moms Online if you are looking for ways to maximize your precious time. The Ten Commandments of Marketing

By Alison Shaw 1. The philosophy of build it and they will come only works in the movies marketing is essential to the success of any business, ignore it and your business will fail. 2. Marketing is not like Christmas, you cant just do it once a year marketing is one of those ongoing activities in your business that you keep building and building. Its not a one off exercise. 3. Who are you? Before you can tell your customers who you are you need to know who you are. Ask yourself the questions who am I aiming at, what does my business stand for, what is the idea or image I want to portray? 4. Who are your customers and do they fit you? Trying to be all things to all people is a sure fire way to fail. Pick those markets that you want to deal with, markets that suit you and the way you operate and then develop product that those markets will want to purchase. 5. Be different Differentiate yourself from you competitors and then you wont compete on price. There are many companies that sell fried chicken in this world, but only one that has the kernels secret herbs and spices. If your product is different not only will you remain for longer in the customers mind, but you will be able to charge more for your services. 6. Lazy marketing is expensive and doesnt always work. Many people when they think of marketing they think of advertising, which often is the most expensive and least effective form of marketing. Look at alternatives that may take more of your time but less cash such as email marketing, 7. Consistency, consistency, consistency. Ensure that your image, your copy and everything about your marketing is consistent. Repetition is the key. 8. Do it right the first time Save yourself a lot of heart ache, time and money by getting your marketing right the first time. Spend the time and money on getting a great logo the first time and you wont have to redo all your marketing material down the track. 9. Get organised, put it into a strategy and just do it. Marketing is 1 % knowledge and 99% action. Get a plan, put in time lines, and set aside the time every week to market your business. 10. You need to be addicted to marketing. If not, hire someone who is. Alison Shaw

Relationship Advice: Closeness and Connection

By Jeff Herring In my work with couples, certain themes have emerged that
can help us understand how a couple that was once close can
drift so far apart. How couples drift apart 1) Life got in the way. Somehow, in the midst of the hustle and
bustle of everyday life, couples seem to forget about each other. The initial closeness they once felt has been damaged by focus on work, the bills, the kids, you name it. 2) Each takes the other for granted. This can slowly eat away at any connection a couple might feel. What makes it worse is that it is so very easy to do. Keeping priorities straight in our stressful lives can be very difficult. We get so caught up in simply living that we forget about making a life with our partner. 3) Each stops treating the other well. Somehow we succumb to the notion that all the things we used to do that brought us together are no longer necessary. It's like the old joke about the couple that had been married for several years and one day the wife said to the husband, ``You never say you love me anymore!'' The husband responds with, ``Well, dear, I told you I loved you on our wedding day. If anything changes, I'll let you know.'' 4) Resentments are held. Old grudges, hurts and resentments are a cancer that can eat away at the closeness of a couple. 5) Communication stops. This is the most frequent reason given by couples as a factor in their drifting apart. Once a couple stops communicating, it's just a matter of time before the roommate syndrome sets in. If you recognize your relationship in the above examples, hang in there; you are not alone and there is a way out. Couples don't plan on growing apart, they simply drift apart over time. Just the opposite is true about growing closer again. You don't just drift into it, you intentionally take action designed to grow closer together. Here are some tips from the couples I've worked with that have helped them grow closer again. How couples can get close again 1) Have a conversation about how you first met and what first attracted you to each other. 2) Talk about the times you have felt the most connected. Then list the things you did that helped create that closeness. Then do those things again. 3) Mention something your partner did that you enjoyed. For example, "I loved it today when you gave me a break from the kids/ held my hand/ hugged me/helped me at the office, etc." 4) Discover what your partner's "love language" is. Do they most need to see it, hear it, or feel it in order to feel most loved? If you don't know, ask. 5) Ask your partner what their "perfect day'' would be like and then create as much of it as you can. 6) Renew and/or rewrite your vows. Who says we can say these
important words only once? Renewing vows, commitments and words of love can rapidly and powerfully bring a couple closer together. These are just a few suggestions for the road back to closeness
and connection. I would love to hear from couples about how they have made the journey back to closeness after drifting apart. If you would like to share your secrets, just drop me a line. Joseph's Life-a Series of "Coincidences"

By Dawn Fields One of my favorite stories in the Bible is the story of Joseph. If you read and really understand this story, you will see that nothing is coincidental and that all things work according to Gods plan. It might not be according to YOUR plan, but it all works out for the best. Just check out the story of Joseph. Joseph had a bunch of brothers. I think it was about 12 of them mugs altogether. But Josephs father loved him the best. The reason he loved him more is because Josephs father had a bunch of baby Mommas and he loved Josephs mother more than the other mommas and therefore was the proudest of Joseph. The other brothers didnt like Joseph because of their fathers blatant favoritism. (Side note: you should never treat any of your children better than the others. If you dont believe me, check out this story for proof.) Well, one day, Josephs father bought him a really nice coat with a lot of colors in it. It was an expensive coat and his brothers were jealous because of it. To give you an example using todays standardsdid you ever watch the movie, Starsky and Hutch where Snoop Dog plays Huggy Bear? I think its on either Showtime or HBO right now. Towards the end of the show, Snoop comes out in this big old fur coat with a lot of colors in it. I dont know why, but when I saw that movie, I thought of Joseph and wondered if his coat looked anything like the one Snoop Dog was wearing in that movie. Anyway, I digress. Well, Joseph loved the coat and wore it all the time. Then, one day Joseph had a dream and made the apparent mistake of sharing his dream with his brothers. He dreamed that one day they would bow down to him. Well, if this wasnt the straw that broke the camels back. His
brothers started plotting and came up with a plan to get rid of him so that their father can stop showing him all the love and start showing them some. Their plan was to kill him. One of the brothers talked them out of killing him and made them agree to simply put him in a ditch and leave him there. They were going to bring his coat back home and tell his father that some wild animal must have killed Joseph. So they did. They threw him in the ditch and took his coat. But then, they had another fantastic idea. There were these guys who were buying people to bring them to Egypt to be slaves. So, the brothers said, hey, why not make a few bucks off of him and sell him to these guys as a slave. This way our brothers blood wont be on our hands, but he will be out of our lives. Thats exactly what they did. Now, I dont know about you, but if I were Joseph, I might not be able to see any Godly plan in all of this. How could this be a POSITIVE thingmy brothers selling me into slavery and taking my Huggy Bear coat? I know I would have gotten angry with my brothers and been ready to fight. I probably would have gotten a little angry with God, too, for allowing this to happen to me. There will be times when you are working towards a goal or towards something that is important to you, and then something comes out of nowhere and sets you back. At the time, it might seem like a horrible thing. But chances are, it is not. God has a plan. You might not understand His plan it right now, but trust me, He does. Well, back to Joseph. He gets sold into slavery. Listen to this. God never left his side. Joseph knew this and simply allowed God to lead his life. Because God loved him and showed favor to him, Joseph wasnt the kind of slave that we visualize when we think of slavery. He wasnt picking cotton and singing, Swing Lo. No, none of that. But he was a slave who had a wise master. His master saw that God was with Joseph and that everything that Joseph did, even though he was a slave, prospered. So, his master found favor in him and made him a house slave. Josephs job
was to take care of the masters needs. Joseph was cool with where he was and simply went with the flow. He remained positive and held fast to his belief in God. His master had a wife who was big on Joseph. I liken her to a gold digger. She saw that everything Joseph did was prosperous and so she wanted to get her hands around him and get in like Flynn. But Joseph was a godly man and was not going to sleep with his masters wife. Then, like any other Gold Digger, she got highly offended because Joseph wasnt falling for her little games. She figured hed get him back by
lying to her husband and telling her husband that Joseph was trying to get with her. This, of course, angered her husband, Josephs master, who couldnt believe that Joseph would do such a thing, especially after how wonderful he had treated Joseph. But, of course, he took his wifes word over Josephs and had Joseph put in jail. Now, I dont know about the laws back then, but that seemed like a harsh punishment for coming on to someones wife (even though he never did come on to her). But, nevertheless, that is where he ended up. So now, look at Josephs lifehis brothers get angry with him because their father loves him more (nothing Joseph has control over). Then, he gets sold into slavery--gets a good master, but a bad masters wife, who gets him thrown in jail for nothing. Seems rather hard, doesnt it? But God isnt finished with him yet. Everything happens for a reason. Joseph goes to jail and is simply forgottenor so it seems. Time keeps ticking away and he has more than served his time. Why is he forgotten? Well, because right now the timing isnt right. Everything works in Gods timenot ours. Even though he is in jail, God is still with him and the wardens find favor in him (isnt it coincidental that everyone finds favor in Joseph? No, because nothing is coincidental. Everything happens for a reason. God has him in jailwaiting for the right time so He is going to make his stay as pleasant as possible.) While he was in jail, he interprets two inmates dreams, both of which come true exactly the way he said they would. One gets out and one gets the electric chair (or the equivalent to the electric chair nowadays.) The one that gets out is supposed to remind the people that Joseph is there so he, too, can get out. But, he forgets about Joseph. Sounds like a bad thing, doesnt it? Well, it is not because the timing still isnt right for the plan that God has for Joseph. Then one day the King has a dream that bothers him. He doesnt
understand what it means, but feels that it has a meaning to it. There is no one who could interpret his dream. This is when the guy (who happens to be the baker for the Kingcoincidence? Not at all) remembers Joseph and how accurate he was in his dream interpretation. So, they call Joseph out of jail. He interprets the dream and the King puts him in charge of saving Egypt by preparing for the drought that is going to hit the land over the next seven years. He is no longer a slave but the most important person in Egypt. WOW. Now this entire story is fantastic when you think of it. His brothers HAD to do what they did. Even though it was evil and the whole nine yards, but without this part of his life, Joseph would not have been able to save Egypt. See how everything works for the best. If Joseph wasnt sold into slavery and given the master that he was given, you know, the one with the whore, gold digging, wife, Joseph probably would never have ended up in jail where he happen to be at the exact same time as the two men who had dreams. If he wasnt there to interpret their dreams, who knows what could have happened? Even more coincidental one of the inmates was let go. If both of them died, no one would have known that Joseph could interpret dreams. And the ex-con
who lived, just coincidentally worked as a baker for the King, who coincidentally (two years later mind you) had a dream that needed to be interpreted. Now, if after reading this you still believe in coincidences, I dont know what to tell you. Your life is not a series of coincidences, but a series of related events that is planned out by God. When hardships come into your life, it is just preparing you for the greatness that is on the way. Now, your timing may not be aligned with Gods timing so just be patient. Everything happens for a reason, and your day to shine is on its way. Oh, and by the way, Josephs brothers did end up bowing down to himjust as they did in the dream that started it all. Helpful Tips To Use During A Date

By Peter Portero When you dont date a lot, you can get really nervous about that first date. There are a few things you can remember that will help the night go a little smoother. First, be sure to listen to what your date is telling you. By listening to your date and watching for non-verbal clues, you will be able to tell how the date is going. If your date is shying away from you that may be your cue to back off slightly. Second, be sure to arrive on time. If you tell your date that you are going to pick them up at 7pm, show up at 7pm. Remember, earlier does not necessarily mean better. You do not want to show up and find your date still in the shower. Also, if you are meeting your date at a neutral location it is particularly important show up on time. Nobody wants to stand around and wait. Do not think of the date as the end all. If you do not take the date too seriously and go in with a good attitude, you will have a better chance of having a good time. Remember, it is only one night. Lastly, remember there are two people on a date, so remember to talk as well as listen. Your date does not want to listen to you blabber on all night long; but at the same time he or she does not want to have to carry the conversation. We are a new web cam chat site that allows men and women to meet and date through webcams. Treasure Hunting Begins Inside

By Sally Taylor If you are like me, you never get enough of the hunt, whether on the search for rocks and gems, fossils, or treasure. Now that the cold, wet weather is putting a damper on outside searches for those in the north, it is prime time for indoor searches. After all, while you can, every once in a while, stumble upon a great place to hunt for treasure while just hoofing around in the wilderness, most productive treasure searches start inside. The first task in treasure hunting is to figure out where exactly it is that you want
to hunt. It's best to be realistic. You may have a dream to hunt in the South Sea
Islands, but if you have no means to get there you have much better ways to
spend hours and hours of research. Productive searching close to home may
just help you fund some of your dream searches. So to start, keep it close -- somewhere you will actually be able to spend some time searching. Once you
have your target area pinpointed, it's time to hit the history books and old
newspapers. The information you are seeking is about old boom towns, mining areas, battle
areas or routes, ghost towns (whether structures still stand or not), town areas
leveled by natural disasters and never rebuilt, pilgrim migration routes, and
anything else that can lead you to spots that were once inhabited or attacked,
and are now deserted. If you are on shorelines, you might also be interested in
information about pirate localities, sea battles, landing areas, old settelments,
and anything else that might point you to buried artifacts along a coastline, or
even in the water if you are into underwater search. Once you pinpoint the areas that look good to search you want to find out what is
on public land, and what is privately owned. The last thing anyone needs is
people roaming around private land without permission. Not only can this cause
trouble for you personally, but it can hinder all who want to search as mass
trespassing can lead to complaints that in turn lead to laws limiting searching for
everyone. City halls or a local branch of USGS will be able to provide you the
information about public and private lands, and will be likely to appreciate your
efforts to be respectful about searching. Chatting with people who have been
employed for long periods in these places can sometimes get you some bonus
leads, too, especially in less populated areas where people are more likely to
know in depth histories and legends from their areas. When you find information of interest, you will want to dig up any old pictures
you can find so you can get an idea of what was located where. Some
landmarks may still exist even if the town itself doesn't. County offices
sometimes have records of town layouts that will actually give you coordinants of
old buildings and other useful information.
Now that you have all the hard information resources you can dig up on battle
routes, massacre areas, stage coach robberies, settler camps, towns leveled in
natural disasters, and so on, it's time to start using your imagination. This
exercise just goes like this: Hmmm. They never located the relatives when the old guy that lived there died
- I wonder what he may have hid or lost around his place. Hmmm. There was a saloon located right there - I wonder where the outhouse
was. (A place where a lot of drunk men were taking their pants off might turn up
some quantity of nice pocket artifacts - especially old coins.) Hmmm. Look at that rock right behind that train wreck in this picture - I know
where that rock is. Hmmm. The Northern armies passed right through here in the civil war. I
wonder how many people buried money and valuables to hide them. I wonder
which of them never made it back to them. Now you get to draw yourself a few of your own maps to take with you when the
nice weather comes back around. These maps can be valuable all on their own. When your hunting season is over, you can add your stories about what you
found in the areas you have mapped and searched. By compiling these maps
and stories, you have created an archive which may be sold to other hunters, or
saved for future generations. 2005 Sally Taylor: Sal is an avid gem and treasure hunter, explorer, writer, and is the owner of http://www.rockhoundstation1.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Sally_Taylor http://EzineArticles.com/?Treasure-Hunting-Begins-Inside&id=106130 phentermine without prescription overnight

CD Replication or CD Duplication?

By Mike Chuah CD Replication, Audio Cd Replication, CD-Rom Replication are all produced from CD Replication machines and are different from the CD Duplication. People around were confuse over the differences between both of them. CD Replication is where one have a master copy to replicate it into bulks. The process of CD Replication involves glass mastering, injection moulding, sputtering and printing. Glass Mastering in CD Replication process means that a master copy is given to the replicator and the master copy will be put into a machine where they want to make a stamper (mould) out for the exact content of the master CD. When the stamper is done, it will then be fixed into an injection machine mould and PC (plastic resin) will be moulded according to the stamper grooves. The transparent plastic which has a shape of the CD now have all the groves that is moulded out from the stamper which was made in the glass mastering process. The transparent CD will then go through a sputtering process where aluminum target are used. This creates a reflective layer where CD player can beam its laser and have a reflective layer reflecting it. After the sputtering process, it will go through a lacquer process where it is a liquid form to protect the layer. After this process the replica will be going through scanners where every piece is QC'ed. After the above process the replica is then printed using silkscreen of offset plates where output films are involved. This is roughly what CD Replication means. On the other hand Cd duplication simply means that you buy a CD-R and burn it using a burner or CD burner stacked. CD Replication and CD duplications biggest different is that every piece out from the CD Replication process is QC'ed and CD duplication is all depend on the CD-R brought and laser head of the CD burner. It is impossible to test CD's from CD Replication process as normal cd Duplicators will not have scanner on them. the second disadvantage of CD-r is that you do not knwo what grade of Cd-r that you are buying. Expensive does not mean good and cheap does not mean grade C. 10 Top Self-Care Tips for Transformation

By Kate Loving Shenk 1) Hang out with your dog(s) and cat(s)--watch the sun and moon beams dance upon her whiskers Feel the sense of companionship as you walk with the dog, preferably off a lead, and when the dog trots along beside you, enjoy the feeling of play, protection and fun! 2) Purposely practice living in the present moment Feel the on-going nature of the here and now, the beginningless, endless sense of a fully dimensioned, fully alive, awake, energized experience of All That Is. This Is It! And It is wonderful! 3) Learn to take yourself lightly, and in the process, laugh at yourself NOW, not retrospectively Practice looking at a challenging situation from all the aspects of what is funny about it, instead of what is sad, tragic or upsetting. We have been programmed to be Drama Queens and Kings, playing out each detail of a situation with great agonizing seriousness, and maybe 10 years later, we finally laugh about what happened. Laugh Now! In 10 years, laugh even harder! And the angels will laugh with you! 4) Learn to spend time by yourself, and learn to thoroughly enjoy it! The sense of free-flow that arises in moments of alone-ness is a liberation. Once it's experienced, you will want to experience it again and again. Put on music and dance! Feel the great sensation of communion with your creative and care-free self, the ancestrial spirits who follow you, with your higher guides who surround you, with your guardian angels who protect you. 5) Practice letting go to a power greater than yourself This transformational tool requires an ongoing sense of faith-- that you don't have to control it, you didn't cause it, and you can't cure it. So let it go--it's no longer your concern. Observe it as you release it, And watch it dissolve into the ethers of timelessness. 6) Practice forgiveness by learning the loving-kindness meditation When feeling negative thoughts about another person, we are the ones who suffer. Similarly, by forgiving the persons who have harmed us, we are the ones who are released and purified. Life gives us the chance to start again. Forgiveness is for giving ourselves the gift of Letting Go/Letting God. 7) May all beings be free of suffering--even those who have harmed us 8) May all hearts everywhere be open to all pain and joy Pain, sickness and separation can cause an opening to a larger purpose and destiny, leading to a sense of Oneness with all. This is a great gift. 9) May the light immerse all shared hearts; May all shared hearts encourage the earth to heal spontaneously; First heal yourself. Others are healed by feeling your healing rays; And Planet Earth is automatically healed 10) May all beings everywhere dissolve the shadows of the past into the light of the healing present; May we all live in mercy and care for each other and ourselves; May we all come to treasure ourselves and each other; May we all come to treasure each other in ourselves; The separation between self and others is an illusion; Live in a state of Reality by joining your heart with all beings, beasts, trees and rocks; And with Stars, Feel the exhilaration of a meteor show, And carry this with you, forever. Pope John Paul II Was No Saint

By David Ben-Ariel How some are so easily fooled! National Perspective, written by David Shribman, a Jew, heaps praise upon Pope John Paul II in "A Pope for All People". A pope for all people? As if he were God's greatest gift to mankind, especially to Jews (truly anti-Christ, vicar, in place or stead of the real Jesus). Popes are for members of the Roman Catholic cult of Mystery Babylon, as many Protestants once acknowledged (even if they condemned themselves in doing so, as they are daughters of that religious system). How ominous, considering biblical prophecies warn of an impending interfaith intoxication that will cause many to stumble and fall for another religious world leader in the same bloody Vatican office pretending to be a pope for all peoples. The plain truth is that the pagan pope (Catholics aren't Christian) was a Roman wolf in sheep's clothing, a politician who spoke out of both sides of his mouth. Remember the popes are both a religious leader and head of state. By Pope John Paul II's support for an accursed "Palestine" - a perversion of dismembered parts of the Holy Land occupied by Arabs, an artificial division of the Promised Land of ISRAEL (Joel 2:3) - he aided and abetted the Nazi-Muslim goal of the phased destruction of Israel (Ps. 83:4); the pagan pope met with the hardened criminal guilty of shedding the most Jewish blood since Hitler, Herr Arafat, upon Judaism's holiest site, the Temple Mount - polluting it with their unholy presence. (Foreshadowing Europe's imminent wannabe divine emperor and sorcerer-pope defiling the Third Temple?). The representative of the bloody Vatican, infamous for its RATLINES that helped innumerable Nazis escape justice, failed to release the silver and the gold, the Temple treasures that are held hostage in the chambers of the Vatican, to Jerusalem where they belong, as Gershon Salomon, chairman of the Temple Mount Faithful, and other Jewish leaders, including Israeli Parliament members, requested. I confess Pope John Paul II spoke pretty platitudes, and appeared to be different, however we're warned even Satan appears as an angel of light and looks can be deceiving, but the bottom line is he's the same old thing: an unrepentant leader of the Roman Catholic Church that covets the Temple Mount; the representative of a monstrous church that continues to dream of a Crusader-Kingdom with Jerusalem as its capital even if it becomes the world's worst nightmare; a false father figure who abused his innocent appeal to call upon Europe to remember their roots, to revive the unholy Roman Empire that will wreak havoc upon all in the name of their Pax Romana, their counterfeit kingdom of God, that won't hesitate to come to power over the dead bodies of anybody who gets in their way. David Ben-Ariel is a Christian-Zionist writer and author of Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall. With a focus on the Middle East and Jerusalem, his analytical articles help others improve their understanding of that troubled region. Check out the Beyond Babylon blog. Going Into Trade

By James Monahan Going into trade is not as easy as coming up with a ready capital and plunging head on towards your first sale. There are hundreds of things that you should consider before deciding to pursue the trade project that you are aiming for. And no stones should be left unturned. After all, going into trade is not some practice session that you can join in and then leave behind relatively unscathed. When you go into it, you have to be fully committed and fully-armed for the battle. You just cannot afford to lose! Here are some of those things that should be in your trade check-list to guide you in your decision. Capital Though money is not the be-all and end-all of a trade plan, there is no denying the fact that huge amount of money must be raised to start the business from the ground and to keep it going. Capital is the primary consideration that one must think of. Without enough capital, a business will have little chance, if not none at all, of flourishing. When raising capital, one must not only set aside enough to start the project off but also a portion that will be used for maintenance and emergency purposes. This is especially true with people going into the manufacturing trade where huge order will necessitate huge amounts of money that will not be fully returned until after the goods have been, delivered and paid for. Location Location actually depends on the kind of trade project that you have in mind. Some business can survive in the trunk of car or even in the sidewalks. Some business start from the living room of a house or in a garage. Business, which does not deal with much manpower can actually be home-based. This is a huge savings for you as you need not have to lease a location for your business. Some business however need a good location especially those that offer service to people or goods that people have to buy. Examples of trade projects like these are restaurants, groceries, newspaper stands and even lemonade stands. The location is very crucial for these kinds of businesses because it will determine the number of people who are able to see and access the goods and services that you are offering. Time Going into trade is serious business. It takes commitment and time to make it work. While there are some business that do not really demand so much time and can be done on a part-time basis, others demand full-time attention. Before you start off your business, assess how much time you can actually devote on the business. If you feel that you cannot give your 100 percent, then there is no sense in pushing through with your trade project. Half-baked ideas and attention have no place in any business. Manpower Whatever the trade project is, whether it is involved in selling, manufacturing or juts plain offering a service, you need someone to help you with the business aspect. This is especially true with business that involves selling and manning a specific area. On the manufacturing side, employees are also needed to produce the goods that are being sold.
