Outdoor Furniture-Teak: Understanding Teak

By Robert Von Voigt Before you invest in teak outdoor furniture, you should invest some time in understanding where it comes from and how to make an informed purchase decision. Tectona grandis is a deciduous (annual) hardwood tree indigenous to the dry, hilly terrains of Southeast Asia and Indonesia. It is extremely dense-grained and highly resistant to decay, warping, shrinkage and swelling. These characteristics make teak patio furniture extremely durable. Teak has a high natural oil content which acts as a natural preservative, allowing furniture made from this wood to be left outdoors for decades. How durable is teak? Early sailing ships were often made from teak, which were impervious to a maritime environment (salt water, rain, high winds). In fact, the many of the first outdoor teak benches were made of recycled decking from old sailing ships. Public parks in England boast recycled teak benches many of which are nearly centuries old, as England had one of the first modern navy. Teak wood ages gracefullykind of like Sofia Loren or Paul Newman. If left to the elements, teak develops a silver grayish coloring which, over time can be left as is or revived to its original patina by lighting sanding and the application of a little teak oil. Many people prefer machine made furniture. Teak furniture manufacturing in Indonesia is generally placed in one of three categories: handmade, semi-machine made, or fully machine made. Contrary to popular belief, the words "handmade" and "furniture" do not go well together when it comes to teak outdoor furniture. Handmade means just that: handmade. An Indonesian teak factory that makes manufacters handmade furniture looks an awful lot like a rural village with "artisians" sitting around in their yards whittling. This may look good in those home-made vacation videos or as neighborhood barbeque conversation, but home made means less than perfect furniture. Handmade teak furniture may feature "character" or "unique detailing" but no two will look precisely alike. Handmade teak is probably the cheapest that money can buy, since Southeast Asia boasts some of the cheapest labor around. Semi-machine made furniture is produced using power tools in a factory. Cuts and bores are more precise although pieces are ultimately fitted by hand. A skilled and experienced furniture maker, with the proper training and experience can produce very legitimate semi-machine products with a higher degree of uniformity than handmade. Of course, semi-machine made furniture is more expensive to produce than handmade furniture but is almost always worth the difference. Full machine factories exclusively use power equipment, tooling, dies and processes intended to take the guess work out of the manufacturing process. Two exact pieces of teak furniture made from a full machine factory will be indistinguishable from one another and looks more "expensive". I Remember The Habit Created of Obeying; Now My Credit is Blemished

By Dottiedee Glass Dottiedee here sharing, "I Remember" as this is my story dear to my heart, may we all find our lesson contained within the words on this page. I grew up in South Central Nebraska on a farm. I had been brought up in a Christian family which attended church often, it came first in our lives. As I grew up learning to obey my parents for this is right, I often wondered when I could do something in my life that wasn't from obeying. I got tired of that word a lot. Maybe I was rebelling against something which I knew deep in my heart just wasn't right, you know? We were taught to obey our parents, obey our teachers, obey our church leaders, obey our government authorities and women obey our husbands when we marry and of course to obey God. All of this obedience would get us to heaven, and to disobey would land us in hell when we died, thus, we functioned out of fear, not love. We were certainly being dominated by a dominator every living moment of our lives. As a girl to become a woman I can remember feeling, I wasn't quite good enough, my brothers where in a better position to end up in heaven than I was cause they could tell their wives what to do. What if I could have been a boy instead of a dumb girl? What if I could be able to tell people what to do like the church leaders, who were men, of course? What if I could tell the women how long their hair had to be, how long their skirts were to be and how horrible to think of wearing make up? But as a girl that wasn't my place, it had to come from the men, they knew best for us ladies, you understand? What would it be like to have authority over all of the women, I used to wonder while looking at the clouds in the sky lying on the green grass of summer. When I was engaged my boyfriend said, "I just want to possess you!" I wondered if that meant he would like to buy me as a farmer does a tractor. I felt like he was the owner of a new toy, a girl doll. I didn't know what to do with these feelings because I was shifting from one dominator to another dominator, from father to husband. I remember the day my husband did something I knew the "church" would not approve of so I mentioned it to him. I was dominated into place quickly by the dominator who knew how to be one, so I remained silent, as I was taught women are to be. What if we could have had a loving partnership relationship rather than a dominator/dominated relationship? Our habits have been passed down from generation to generation for a long time of living in a dominator/domination system. We can read our recorded history and find for the last 4000+ years, most of our planet has been ruled by the dominator/dominated system. What will it take to get this mind set out of our physic? Remember when we studied history in school, how we had to learn all of the dates and the generals of all the wars, and who won and where they were fought? We had to learn all about the wars of Europe and those fought on North American soil and those of the World Wars, studying all of the bloodshed of the dominator over the dominated, remember? How long since you read the books of Moses? Talk about bloodshed of dominator over dominated, could this have something to do with the mind set of the world today? What if all wars were just a dominator proving he is the one and the dominated had to be sacrificed to allow the dominator to be correct? Have you ever wondered how people lived before recorded history? Could they have lived a much more peaceful life with no wars to record, so no recorded history? Fall Blooming Flowers - Autumn Beauty For Your Garden

By Paul Wonning There are many fall blooming flowers from which to choose for the autumn garden. Some are perennial which will return to brighten your flower garden for many years. Set a few pumpkins and gourds around to complete your classic autumn scene. Chrysanthemum
The old garden standby, mums are one of the most popular fall perennials. Available in a vast variety of colors, types, and heights the mum is truly fall color at its best. You will find early, mid, and late season mums. The early ones will bloom during the late summer, mid-season will bloom from late summer to very early autumn. And the late ones should take the color right up to frost. Best of all, the hardy mums should come back every year, providing future color for your garden. Great Lobelia
This is a wildflower which does well in the perennial garden. Deep blue flower spikes on fairly compact plants are a great contrast to the fall blooming mums. Bloom commences in mid to late August and continues until mid to late September. Asters
Asters are a bit taller than the mums so they will add an extra dimension of height to the fall flower garden. A multitude of colors and types can be found, so you should be able to find whatever you need to satisfy your outdoor dcor. Goldenrod
There are cultivated varieties of this beautiful fall perennial. The bright yellow spikes of flowers lend a autumnal flavor to any flower garden. Other Flowers and Plants for the Fall Flower Garden Pansies
Pansies are a great addition to the fall flower garden. In a sheltered location they can provide color throughout the winter during mild spells. Then in the early spring, they will burst forth to provide color again until the summer heat gets too oppressive for them. Ornamental Cabbage and Kale
No autumn garden is complete without some ornamental cabbages and kales. The burgundies, greens and various pink shades of their ornamental leaves fit right in with any autumn theme. The color should last through the first few light frosts. Alyssum
Spring planted alyssum sometimes sulks through the hot summer months, but the cooler autumn soon brings it out of its snit into a fragrant cloud of fresh bloom. Old standbys Carpet of Snow and Royal Carpet are excellent choices, but there are a number of new varieties to experiment with, too. Fall flower gardening can be very rewarding. The bright colored mums and asters intermingled with sunny yellow goldenrod, delicate looking pansies and flowing, shimmering alyssum can produce a very stunning fall garden. What is Magnetic Therapy?

By Debbie Shimadry Historically it is reported that magnets have been around for an extremely long time. Magnets were first documented around 2500-3000 years BC. Magnets have been used in Chinese medicine from around 2000 BC in-conjunction with reflexology and acupuncture. It is still used today as a first line treatment for many common complaints. However the last 15 years has shown a prolific increase in medical research into magnetic therapy. There have been over 57 studies in the USA into incurable diseases and magnetics. Science has discovered that a magnetic field over and around the point of pain increases blood flow in the effected area. The blood contains iron and when therapeutic magnets are placed on the skin the magnetic field penetrates through the skin and into the surrounding tissues and blood stream. The iron in the blood is attracted to the magnetic field, this causes movement within the blood stream and the increased activity causes the blood flow to improve. This increased blood flow carries with it greater quantities of oxygen, vital nutrients, and especially endorphins which relieve and soon remove and alleviate the pain. When static magnets are placed over an area of inflammation, the magnetic field penetrates through the skin and deep into the tissues and blood stream. Damaged cells will react to the presence of a magnetic field by realigning their ions into the correct position. This begins the process of eliminating the excess fluid from within the cell. Cell damage will stop and healing of the cells will begin over a period of days. In real terms the effects of these magnets will reduce pain and discomfort in and around the area that they are placed. The truth is, magnets need to be placed directly over the area of pain to have an effect. Unfortunately you can not treat the whole of your body with just one magnet. Magnets do not block the pain signal. They work on the cause of the pain, which is why static magnets have to placed as close to the point of pain as possible. In short, wherever your pain is located you must place the magnets within that area or the very close proximity. The pain reducing effects will remain for as long as the magnets remain in place, thus reducing the need for other analgesics. Best of all, magnets are natural, contain no drugs or chemicals and have no known side effects. Magnets leave a lasting and deeply beneficial reduction of painful symptoms for 82% of users that will stay with them for as long as they continue to use them. Research studies have shown magnets to be effective in 82% of cases and have demonstrated benefits in the following conditions: Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Spondylosis, Fibromyalgia, general joint pain, muscular pain, M.S., stroke, insomnia, migraine, stress, depression, bowel disorders, Diabetes, high blood pressure and poor circulation. Debbie Shimadry is qualified magnetic therapist and pain nurse specialist. She appears on several BBC radio stations as an expert guest on magnetic therapy and is also the managing director of leading magnetic therapy company worldofmagnets.co.uk. How To Get Cellular Phone Wallpaper Downloads

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Neil_Day]Neil Day Cell phones used to be pretty basic. They all looked alike. They all did the same thing - send and receive calls. But, as technology on phones moves forward, people are finding it much easier to personalize their phones and make them stand out as unique devices. One such method for personalization involves the use of cellular phone wallpaper. Cellular phone wallpaper is simply an image that appears on the phone either all the time, when it rings or when calls are sent. Some phone enable the use of multiple wallpaper images, while others will only accept and store a single one. Either way this trend gives users an ability to make their phones more personally pleasing to their owners. Using cellular phone wallpaper downloads won't be something every phone on the market will allow, however. If a phone isn't capable of displaying graphic images, it likely won't have a variety of wallpaper images for use. Digital phones that offer camera features and 3D games, however, are generally very wallpaper friendly. Getting cellular phone wallpaper to use on a phone that's graphics capable is fairly simple. Most cell phone service providers offer access to hundreds of different wallpaper styles that can be downloaded for little or no expense. Those with cell phone cameras can often even create their own wallpaper by taking a shot and storing it as the standard wallpaper. There are even companies that specialize in nothing more than cell phone downloads, such as wallpaper. Some phones enable the use of multiple images, but it will be up to the user to figure out if their phone can do this or not. If it can, cellular phone wallpaper can be set to display a different image for each regular caller. All it takes is picking the image and a fairly basic programming sequence. The personalization is often used by people with cell phone cameras to display pictures of the callers each time they call. Cellular phone wallpaper is an extra on most service plans, but it's one that many consumers enjoy very much. These little extra images give users a kick, can make them smile during a bad day and are just a great way to make a cold, impersonal phone something special. These combined with other downloads, such as music, games, and videos, are making people's cell phones become valued devices for personal entertainment and communication combined. To find out if a phone is cellular phone wallpaper capable, check with your service provider and examine the phone's graphic abilities. Those that display in full color generally are. Basic two tone screens typically are not. Phones that can handle downloads can actually download them over the phone in most cases by accessing the phone's web browser. It's a fairly simple process. Cellular phone wallpaper is an extra, but it's one that many phone users enjoy very much. As the trend develops, the possibilities for personalization are almost endless. Lusty Lovers: Seize Your Fears!

By Joseph Plazo How many are scared of learning more about your relationship and your future mate. "What if I realize we are incompatible?" "What if I discover out she doesn't love me?" "What if I find out we are in fact separate individuals with separate wants and wishes?" A great deal men and women refuse to peer too closely at the person they live with. This may be the safe path, but it is also imprudent. As we all know, the nature of relationship, the nature of humans, is to want harmony, routine, stale comfort as in, "Let's make sure everything stays the same for all eternity." Change is terrifying, even distressing, but it is predestined. Change is the reality of the universe. Don't be astounded if at the start of growing your relationship, resentments emerge. A recognizable pattern: you start doing syrupy things for each other, and suddenly a few days later you have a scrap about how she never initiates sex or he never buys thoughtful presents. This squabble may seem to come out of nowhere, but it hasn't. When we begin to nurture each other, we stroke on unsatisfied needs. An angry voice rises up and says, "This feels great. Why hasn't he done this for me before?" Or, instead of bitterness, our internal voice might say, "This feels exquisite. I can't handle it," and we pick a fight to distance ourselves because we are afraid the wonderful times will be cut off. What to do to deal with fear, fights, and resistance to transformation? Recognize they exist. Dialogue your fears about changing and acknowledge your resistance to sampling anything new. Quite frequently we start beating ourselves up and throwing ourselves headlong into a project before we have given any thought to our disinclination and fears. Don't refute your resistance and trepidation; it won't go away, it will only get larger. In its place, make space for it. Jot down your resistance and acknowledge your fears. You can also try designating a table or statuette in your house where you store your defiance to exploring new things. Refer to it, or mimic adding to it when you feel the overpowering desire to stay the course or are reluctant to try something new. Tune in to your mind-set and the voices in your head. Discuss about your feelings as they come up. Happily link fears and overpowering feelings of penury with self-nurturing endeavors. Whatsoever you do, sidestep perfectionism. Perfect translates directly to disappointment where nurturing is concerned. All transformation is a give-and-take procedure, two steps forward, one large step back. Sweet whispers of appreciation and intimate snuggling in front of the fireplace instead of the TV could occur for a few days, and then it is back to "Star Trek" and a garbled "How was your day?" Profound change takes time, fortitude, and what seems like an eternity of reminders, both to yourself and your mate. If you accept this at the outset, you will succeed in buff your relationship to a glistening, healthy luster of passion, respect, and rapport. Joseph Plazo is a renowned success coach. How to Customize your Wedding Ceremony with Personal Wedding Vows

By Cori Locklin Looking for ways to personalize your wedding ceremony? Consider incorporating your own carefully chosen words into this momentous occasion, and build the foundation for a life-long relationship. Writing your own vows is definitely an ambitious undertaking. Not only must you determine the perfect words to say, but those words must be rehearsed and recited in front of your closest family and friends on a day that will be one of the most important of your life. Follow these easy steps to pen and recite beautiful vows from the heart. Step One - Before you put pen to paper, consider these factors: Get approval
Talk to your officiant to make sure personal vows are even allowed. Some religions object to non-secular expressions during the wedding ceremony. Even with the go-ahead, submit your personalized vows to your officiant for review before the big day; he or she may have specific objections or even helpful ideas. Establish an estimated length
Your audience will find it odd and even comical if one rambles for 5 minutes will the other says 10 words. Be succinct
Overly lengthy wedding vows may lose your audience and will only increase the potential for error.
Review them in front of someone else. You can rehearse with each other, or if you'd rather keep them a surprise, read your vows to a trusted loved one. Step Two - Decide What to Say: Consult your past
Time for a trip down memory lane. Start jotting down the details of special firsts in your relationshipfirst meeting, first date, first kiss, first "I love you," etc. What qualities made you fall in love in the first place? Are there special milestones in your relationship that that have helped bring you here today? Envision the Future
What challenges and achievements to you foresee in the future, and how do you expect to meet those things together? Complete Me
Sure, it's a line from a moviebut there's a reason for its now clich status. What characteristics does he/she bring out in you? How does he/she make you a better person? Use the right words
Compile your notes, memories and reflections, and begin turning words into sentences. Consult your thesaurus for the perfect expressions to reflect your thoughts. Some words to get you started: love, trust, support, strength, encourage, respect, cherish, admire, value, commit, pledge and promise. Step 3 - Say it With Heart Have a cheat sheet
Even if you plan to memorize them, the nerves may kick in when the big moment arrives. To avoid a potentially awkward scene at the wedding ceremony bring a cheat sheet just in case. How To Catch More Bass Next Time!

By Jeffrey Ryall Going on a fishing vacation can be fun especially when you are fishing for bass.
Fishing a new lake or a new piece of water can be really exhilarating and down right frustrating. Below are a few tips to help you on your way. A good idea might be to hire a fishing guide, especially if you are new to the area.
He would be able to give good advice on where to fish, what time is best in a specific area and which techniques work well on that particular piece of water. Another idea is to do some research on the lake or piece of water you are going to be fishing. You could read about the water in question in magazines or on a website. The more time spent now in learning where the best places are to catch the fish and with what bait the better the chances of having a good days fishing. Also go to the local fishing shop and ask some of the local fishermen where they have had their best days fishing. Bass like to stay close to rocks, trees or similar places and in the mane will stay away from open waters, so if you do not get any other information here is a good place to start. Start with one bait and try for a while and if the fish are not biting, change tactics and try something different. Sometimes the bass will be found in ledges or in intersections of water. These fish will go for a variety of bait, try artificial worms or a pumpkin seed colour.
Bass will very often stay close to their spawning area and this should be fished if at all possible. Try using spinners that are light in colour and fish them just under the surface to attract the fish. When trying to catch bass cast your bait close to rock formations or shaded areas as well as trying different baits and tackle. Remember this is a vacation, so do not take it to seriously. What could be better than being out in the sun and fresh air with no work or mobile phones to distract you and catching a net full of fish? Oh heaven. Jeff Ryall runs a fishing website that focuses on information about fishing and fishing related products. You can enjoy reading tips, tricks and techniques about fishing at his site at http://www.fishermansfriend1.blogspot.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jeffrey_Ryall http://EzineArticles.com/?How-To-Catch-More-Bass-Next-Time!&id=320152 free credit repair info
